Veteran family connecting through outdoor adventure in the Colorado mountains, reflecting Baseline's mission to strengthen families and build resilience.

ABOUT BASELINE

The trail changes after service.

Military service shapes how families communicate, adapt, and face challenges. Life after service brings new responsibilities, changing routines — and opportunities to reconnect.

MISSION & VISION

OUR CORE MISSION - WHAT & HOW

We exist to combat Veteran isolation by strengthening families through outdoor adventure, shared challenge, and community connection.

OUR CORE VISION - WHY

Resilient Veteran families and community support networks that thrive together, so no service member, spouse, or child navigates life alone.

OUR STORY

Founded by two Veterans who saw a gap.

Baseline was founded by two Veterans and outdoor educators who noticed a gap in the community: very little long-term, reinforcing programming designed to support not just Veterans, but their spouses and children after service.

Baseline uses the same kinds of challenges that build strong military teams - navigating tough terrain, managing risk, and relying on the person next to you - to strengthen families. Operating on a 1,000-acre property lease near Lake George, Colorado, families step away from everyday distractions, reconnect, and reset their baseline.

BACKCOUNTRY MECHANICS

Growth through shared experience, not lectures.

The Family Is the Unit

Programs are built around the whole family - Veterans, spouses, and children - not just the individual Veteran.

Why the Outdoors

Real-world challenges ask families to communicate, solve problems, and work together - skills that carry home.

Connection That Lasts

Every experience is a chance to build friendships and a support network that continues well beyond any single program.

NONCLINICAL BY DESIGN

We aren't a clinical treatment program.

Baseline creates opportunities for families to grow together through real-world experiences. Our programs are nonclinical and designed to complement - never replace - professional mental health services

We don't diagnose or treat any condition. If your family needs clinical support, we're glad to help point you toward qualified providers. In a crisis, call or text 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line.
